Is anybody out there?

Responses are trickling into classmates.com, and I'm hopeful that I will be going home to a mail box full of checks this weekend. But it's not looking like anyone has posted any contact info via the comments link yet.
Come on you guys! Am I the only one excited about spending an afternoon with the kind of people who can pick up a conversation started thirty years ago without missing a beat? I know a lot of people have issues with reunions, but the reality is, from my point of view anyway: no one really knows you like the people you went to high school with. Sure we change. Or think we do. But deep down, we're still the same freaky, geeky kids we always were. I know, I know. We've turned into our parents. But think of it this way: for a night we get to pretend we're going to the prom again.

New to the blogosphere?

For those of you new to blogging - it's really just an online diary. And for me, the quickest, easiest way to get out reunion details. I'm finding classmates.com a little frustrating to use. So this is my crutch.
You can post messages by clicking - which would be a great help to us in providing contact info for other classmates. You can even send me photos (email: riva_isms@yahoo.com) and I will upload.
This can be an on-going place for us to meet and keep in touch, well beyond the reunion.
So check back at least one a week. Find out the latest news, or tell us what's going on with you!
Fast facts: Reunion date is Saturday, July 30th, 2pm at Pavillion on the Hudson. Price is $25 per person. If that's a difficult price for you to meet, please let me know privately, and I'm sure we can work something out. I'd like to encourage everyone to commit early, so price will increase by $5 per month.
Checks should be made out and sent to: Riva Weinstein/Reunion. Address: 296 Stissing Road, Stanfordville, NY 12581
If you want to make payment on line, you can do so at Classmates.com, but there is a processing fee in addition to the price.
Try to RSVP by May 31st. If you have questions, just post and I will respond.
Can't wait to see you all!

Corn, Kabobs, Music and More

I met with Matt Friday at the Pavillion and it's even nicer than I remembered it. A huge outdoor metal structure, with really nice views of the Hudson, right off Waryas Park. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, a great sound system and a huge bar. There will be specialty drinks like Margharitas at specialty prices. And of course the full range of classics.
Ticket prices for the Reunion will be around $25. And will be finalized this week. And to encourage your commitment early, prices will increase each month until the event. If you buy tickets on line at classmates, an extra charge for processing will be added. Checks sent directly to me c/o Reunion will not carry a processing fee.
We've been invited to create our own play list. So let's hear from you. What do you want to hear? If you can burn a cd and send it, or bring it - we can give to the DJ. I'm compiling a play list. Everything from Madonna and John Mayer to Crosby Stills Nash and Young and Led Zepplin. I'm hoping for a mix of contemporary, dance music and memory music as well. Let's hear from you! Just click comments, below and let me know what you're thinking!
